Add the bare minimum needed to boot BCM2708 from a Device Tree. Signed-off-by: Noralf Tronnes <notro@tronnes.org> BCM2708: DT: change 'axi' nodename to 'soc' Change DT node named 'axi' to 'soc' so it matches ARCH_BCM2835. The VC4 bootloader fills in certain properties in the 'axi' subtree, but since this is part of an upstreaming effort, the name is changed. Signed-off-by: Noralf Tronnes <notro@tronnes.org> BCM2708_DT: Correct length of the peripheral space Use dts-dirs feature for overlays. The kernel makefiles have a dts-dirs target that is for vendor subdirectories. Using this fixes the install_dtbs target, which previously did not install the overlays. BCM270X_DT: configure I2S DMA channels Signed-off-by: Matthias Reichl <hias@horus.com> BCM270X_DT: switch to bcm2835-i2s I2S soundcard drivers with proper devicetree support (i.e. not linking to the cpu_dai/platform via name but to cpu/platform via of_node) will work out of the box without any modifications. When the kernel is compiled without devicetree support the platform code will instantiate the bcm2708-i2s driver and I2S soundcard drivers will link to it via name, as before. Signed-off-by: Matthias Reichl <hias@horus.com> SDIO-overlay: add poll_once-boolean parameter Add paramter to toggle sdio-device-polling done every second or once at boot-time. Signed-off-by: Patrick Boettcher <patrick.boettcher@posteo.de> BCM270X_DT: Make mmc overlay compatible with current firmware The original DT overlay logic followed a merge-then-patch procedure, i.e. parameters are applied to the loaded overlay before the overlay is merged into the base DTB. This sequence has been changed to patch-then-merge, in order to support parameterised node names, and to protect against bad overlays. As a result, overrides (parameters) must only target labels in the overlay, but the overlay can obviously target nodes in the base DTB. mmc-overlay.dts (that switches back to the original mmc sdcard driver) is the only overlay violating that rule, and this patch fixes it. bcm270x_dt: Use the sdhost MMC controller by default The "mmc" overlay reverts to using the other controller. squash: Add cprman to dt BCM270X_DT: Use clk_core for I2C interfaces BCM270X_DT: Use bcm283x.dtsi, bcm2835.dtsi and bcm2836.dtsi The mainline Device Tree files are quite close to downstream now. Let's use bcm283x.dtsi, bcm2835.dtsi and bcm2836.dtsi as base files for our dts files. Mainline dts files are based on these files: bcm2835-rpi.dtsi bcm2835.dtsi bcm2836.dtsi bcm283x.dtsi Current downstream are based on these: bcm2708.dtsi bcm2709.dtsi bcm2710.dtsi bcm2708_common.dtsi This patch introduces this dependency: bcm2708.dtsi bcm2709.dtsi bcm2708-rpi.dtsi bcm270x.dtsi bcm2835.dtsi bcm2836.dtsi bcm283x.dtsi And: bcm2710.dtsi bcm2708-rpi.dtsi bcm270x.dtsi bcm283x.dtsi bcm270x.dtsi contains the downstream bcm283x.dtsi diff. bcm2708-rpi.dtsi is the downstream version of bcm2835-rpi.dtsi. Other changes: - The led node has moved from /soc/leds to /leds. This is not a problem since the label is used to reference it. - The clk_osc reg property changes from 6 to 3. - The gpu nodes has their interrupt property set in the base file. - the clocks label does not point to the /clocks node anymore, but points to the cprman node. This is not a problem since the overlays that use the clock node refer to it directly: target-path = "/clocks"; - some nodes now have 2 labels since mainline and downstream differs in this respect: cprman/clocks, spi0/spi, gpu/vc4. - some nodes doesn't have an explicit status = "okay" since they're not disabled in the base file: watchdog and random. - gpiomem doesn't need an explicit status = "okay". - bcm2708-rpi-cm.dts got the hpd-gpios property from bcm2708_common.dtsi, it's now set directly in that file. - bcm2709-rpi-2-b.dts has the timer node moved from /soc/timer to /timer. - Removed clock-frequency property on the bcm{2709,2710}.dtsi timer nodes. [ Upstream commit 738b150e ] Looks like using the UART CTS pin does not always trigger for a wake-up when the SoC is idle. This is probably because the modem first uses gpio_149 to signal the SoC that data will be sent, and the CTS will only get used later when the data transfer is starting. Let's fix the issue by configuring the gpio_149 pad as the wakeirq for UART. We have gpio_149 managed by the USB PHY for powering up the right USB mode, and after that, the gpio gets recycled as the modem wake-up pin. If needeed, the USB PHY can also later on be configured to use gpio_149 pad as the wakeirq as a shared irq. Let's also configure the missing properties for uart-has-rtscts and current-speed for the modem port while at it. We already configure the hardware flow control pins with uart1_pins pinctrl setting. commit e47cb97f upstream. The Clock Pulse Generator (CPG) device node lacks the extal2 clock. This may lead to a failure registering the "r" clock, or to a wrong parent for the "usb24s" clock, depending on MD_CK2 pin configuration and boot loader CPG_USBCKCR register configuration. This went unnoticed, as this does not affect the single upstream board configuration, which relies on the first clock input only. commit be08d278 upstream. With the introduction of 55c7c062 ("ARM: dts: bcm283x: Fix vc4's firmware bus DMA limitations") the firmware bus has to comply with /soc's DMA limitations. Ultimately linking both buses to a same dma-ranges property. The patch (and author) missed the fact that a bus' #address-cells and #size-cells properties are not inherited, but set to a fixed value which, in this case, doesn't match /soc's. This, although not breaking Linux's DMA mapping functionality, generates ugly dtc warnings. Fix the issue by adding the correct address and size cells properties under the firmware bus. commit 4141f1a4 upstream. In order to wake from suspend by ethernet magic packets the GPC must be used as intc does not have wakeup functionality. But the FEC DT node currently uses interrupt-extended, specificying intc, thus breaking WoL. This problem is probably fallout from the stacked domain conversion as intc used to chain to GPC. So replace "interrupts-extended" by "interrupts" to use the default parent which is GPC. commit 32a1671f upstream. Recent changes in the SPI core and the SPI-GPIO driver revealed that the GPIO lines for the LD9040 LCD controller on the UniversalC210 board are defined incorrectly. Fix the polarity for those lines to match the old behavior and hardware requirements to fix LCD panel operation with recent kernels. Commit d4ec0cb0 ("ARM: dts: exynos: Add support for the touch-sensitive buttons on Midas family") added a new fixed regulator ("voltage-regulator-6") to base "midas" .dtsi, but it didn't update the clients of that .dtsi, which define their own fixed regulators starting from the "voltage-regulator-6". This results in aliasing of the regulator dt nodes and breaks operation of OLED panel due to lack of power supply. Fix this by increasing the numbers in the fixed regulator names for those boards. The bus is virtual and devices have to inherit their DMA constraints from the underlying interconnect. The L3 interconnect's memory map is from 0x0 to 0xffffffff. Looks like we can have the maxtouch touchscreen stop producing interrupts if an edge interrupt is lost. This can happen easily when the SoC idles as the gpio controller may not see any state for an edge interrupt if it is briefly triggered when the system is idle. Also it looks like maxtouch stops sending any further interrupts if the interrupt is not handled. And we do have several cases of maxtouch already configured with a level interrupt, so let's do that. With level interrupt the gpio controller has the interrupt state visible after idle. Note that eventually we will probably also be using the Linux generic wakeirq configured for the controller, but that cannot be done until the maxtouch driver supports runtime PM. The L3 interconnect's memory map is from 0x0 to 0xffffffff. Out of this, System memory (SDRAM) can be accessed from 0x80000000 to 0xffffffff (2GB) DRA7 does support 4GB of SDRAM but upper 2GB can only be accessed by the MPU subsystem. Add the dma-ranges property to reflect the physical address limit of the L3 bus. Issues ere observed only with SATA on DRA7-EVM with 4GB RAM and CONFIG_ARM_LPAE enabled. This is because the controller supports 64-bit DMA and its driver sets the dma_mask to 64-bit thus resulting in DMA accesses beyond L3 limit of 2G. Setting the correct bus_dma_limit fixes the issue.
